Requirements for Full Membership
To be eligible for Full Membership of ACPA you must:
- Hold registration with the Psychology Board of Australia with endorsement as a clinical psychologist
AND
- Hold a professional Master's or Doctoral degree in clinical psychology accredited by the body appointed under the current Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act (2009)
Psychologists who are endorsed by the Psychology Board of Australia
(PsyBA) as clinical psychologists, but who do not hold the accredited
postgraduate qualifications in clinical psychology deemed necessary by
the PsyBA, are not eligible for ACPA membership. Full Members of ACPA
have voting rights at the Annual General Meeting.
Members of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists (NZCCP):
Membership of the New Zealand College of Clinical
Psychologists (NZCCP) is recognised by ACPA as meeting the requirements
for Full Membership in ACPA. NZCCP members are entitled to all
membership privileges associated with their membership category in ACPA.
Clinical psychologists registered with the New Zealand Psychologists
Board who are not members of the NZCCP are eligible to join ACPA as International Members.

AUSTRALIAN QUALIFICATIONS:
- Copies of any documents listing any change/s of name/s (if relevant) and
- Copies of testamur/s (degree/s) OR copy of transcripts containing itemised subjects
N.B. Endorsement in clinical psychology will be checked online by ACPA.
OVERSEAS QUALIFICATIONS:
If you received your endorsement in Clinical Psychology from the Psychology Board of Australia after November 2006:
- Certified copies of any documents listing any change/s of name/s (if relevant) and
- Certified copy of testamur (degree) in clinical psychology, or full academic transcript
If you received your endorsement in Clinical Psychology from the Psychology Board of Australia prior to November 2006:
- Certified copies of any documents listing any change/s of name/s (if relevant) and
- Certified copies of a full transcript containing itemised subjects of post-graduate clinical psychology training and
- Evidence of any previous registration or licensure as a clinical psychologist in an international jurisdiction
N.B. Post-graduate qualifications in clinical psychology completed prior to 2006 obtained overseas will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
